Tim Kennedy recalls filming with suspect allegedly responsible for recent Cybertruck explosion outside Trump Hotel: "It doesn't make sense"

Former UFC middleweight Tim Kennedy had previously met Matthew Alan Livelsberger, who is suspected to be the perpetrator behind the Cybertruck explosion outside the entrance of the Trump International Hotel Las Vegas. As was recently revealed by Inside Edition, the pair filmed a History Channel special.

As both men are Green Berets, they took part in Ultimate Soldier Challenge. During Kennedy's sitdown, he revealed to have not initially recognized Livelsberger due to the latter using a different name back when they first crossed paths.

"I was like, 'Oh no, I know that guy.' Then it just, like, tore my heart out, because he was a really great Green Beret. He was charming, he was talented. He was personable. He was kind, he was all the things you'd expect from a Green Beret, it just categorically does not make sense. From everything I've heard, he was universally valued by his team, by his peers. I don't understand, it doesn't make sense, and it's horrifically heartbreaking."

Following the Cybertruck incident, Livelsberger fatally shot himself. The series of events that preceded it has dominated the news cycle, and Kennedy was among the people reached out to as the ex-UFC middleweight has insider knowledge on what Livelsberger was like as an individual.

Kennedy's military career has been a fixture of his previous tenure in the UFC, where he had notable fights with former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping and brutal knockout artist Yoel Romero, the latter of whom he faced in a controversial bout years ago.
