Fans recently voiced their opinions on the announcement of Sebastian Fundora's next opponent. Fundora has been asked by the WBO to defend his world titles against undefeated Terence Crawford in a title unification fight.

Boxing journalist Michael Benson took to X and reported the news about WBO ordering Fundora to defend his WBO and WBC super-welterweight titles in a title unification bout against Crawford, who has the WBA title. According to Benson, the two boxers have 30 days to reach an agreement before proceeding with purse bids. He wrote:

''The WBO have now officially ordered Sebastian Fundora to defend his WBC & WBO super-welterweight world titles in a unification vs. Terence Crawford next. Crawford has the WBA super-welterweight world title and the WBO ‘interim’ belt. 30 days to agree a deal, then purse bids.''

Fans soon rushed to the comments section to share their reactions, with one of them writing:

''Tim Tszyu got F**KED. He won that fight against Fundora with a gallon of blood pumping out of his head every round and now no rematch and Fundora gets the big money fight.''

Another fan stated:

''Wow great fight but how is this happening. I have never seen this happen before. Sanctioning bodies can not officially order a unification fight. Unification fights only happen if the fighters want to fight not because it was ordered.''

Other fans wrote:

''Bud could clean out the division within two fights potentially!''
''Good Bud will be a unified champion''

Fundora boasts a professional record of 21-1-1. In his last boxing outing, 'The Towering Inferno' defeated Tim Tszyu to become the new WBC and WBO super-welterweight champion.

Meanwhile, Crawford is undefeated in his professional career with 41 wins. 'Bud' is now the new WBA super-welterweight champion following a unanimous decision win against Israil Madrimov.

Sebastian Fundora's promoter is skeptical about the Terence Crawford fight

Shortly after the announcement of Sebastian Fundora's super-welterweight title unification clash against Terence Crawford, Fundora's promoter Sampson Lewkowicz claimed that Crawford is undecided about the fight and is still considering fighting Canelo Alvarez, who is set to face Edgar Berlanga on Sept. 14.

Lewkowicz spoke to BoxingScene and revealed that Crawford would only take on Fundora if he was unable to work out an agreement for the fight with Alvarez, saying:

“I’m waiting on an offer now, and I’m certain one will not come until after the 14th. I’d like to find out right now if [Crawford’s] going to fight for the money or the titles. I believe he wants the money. He will do everything he can to fight Canelo, and [his team] will not call me until after the fight.'' [H/t: BoxingScene]
