Jon Jones isn't interested in "gambling" his legacy on a fight against Tom Aspinall, who according to 'Bones,' is yet to achieve anything significant in MMA. That notion, however, has been dismissed by Aspinall, who, in turn, has claimed that Jones is afraid of facing him.
The Mancunian is currently the interim heavyweight champion, whilst Jones holds the undisputed heavyweight belt, which he will be defending against Stipe Miocic at UFC 309 on Nov. 16.
Jones has stated that even if he defeats Miocic, he will not look to face the interim champion next to unify the heavyweight title. Instead, 'Bones' would prefer another "legacy" fight against light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira, and is even open to the idea of vacating the heavyweight strap.
In a recent video uploaded to his YouTube channel, Aspinall issued a fresh taunt the way of the heavyweight champion. He inserted a clip of Jones saying:

"You're beating guys who aren't even champions and you consider yourself a champion. He's not a champion."
Aspinall retorted, writing:
"So Jon said I need to fight more champions, but this is the problem I've got. Jon is the champion, and he won't fight me. He says that he won't fight me because it's too much of a gamble... And Jon, if you're not into gambling your legacy, that to me sounds like you're scared of losing against me."

Jon Jones says Tom Aspinall being an "a**hole" cost him a chance at fighting 'Bones'
Jon Jones has no interest in facing Tom Aspinall, much to the frustration of the collective MMA fan base. The heavyweight champion will defend his title against Stipe Miocic at UFC 309, and ahead of the bout, he appeared infront of the media for questions.
Jones was asked if any part of him was drawn to the challenge presented by Aspinall. The 38-year old responded with this:
"There's a part of it that does. But if I'm being completely honest, I feel like Tom's been such an a**hole that I don't want to do business with him. His fans have been so annoying, and obviously you don't get this far in a career being affected by fans. But he is just an a**hole... If you had a little bit more respect, then maybe we could have worked something out."
