Tom Aspinall is a unique mix of size, speed and superb technical prowess, a combination rarely seen in heavyweight MMA fighters. The Mancunian is currently the UFC interim heavyweight champion, but he believes he is still flying under the radar of many fans.

Aspinall holds a record of 14-3, but he has never seen the final bell of a mixed martial arts fight. With 11 knockout wins to accompany 3 submission victories, the 31-year old currently holds the record for the shortest average fight time in UFC history.

This makes the interim champion must-see TV, but he is yet to feel the recognition he believes he deserves. But the Mancunian remains mostly unbothered, and will keep working with the faith that the recognition will come eventually.

He was recently interviewed by Israel Adesanya's brother, David, where he said this:

"Yeah, I do think I fly under the radar sometimes. I'm not quite sure why that is to be honest. I feel like, like you say, I've got the shortest average fight time in UFC history. It's not like I have one or two fights, at the moment I think I've beaten five guys in the Top 10. And I've finished 'em all. I don't know why that is, but I'll keep banging the drum, I'll keep winning fights, and I'm sure it's gonna come."

Tom Aspinall previews gameplan if he fought Alex Pereira

Alex Pereira is operating with an aura of invincibility right now having recently defended his light heavyweight title against Jiri Prochazka at UFC 303 on three-weeks notice.

It feels as though he can do no wrong, and as such there have been suggestions that 'Poatan' move to heavyweight and challenge for a third UFC title - an unprecedented feat.

UFC CEO Dana White recently admitted that longtime commentator Joe Rogan has pushed him to schedule Jon Jones vs. Pereira for the heavyweight title. But there have also been suggestions that 'Poatan' should face Tom Aspinall, who recently discussed his gameplan for a hypothetical clash with Pereira.

The Mancunian said this:

"The bell would go and I'd f**king run across [the octagon] full blast and rugby tackle him. First 10 seconds of the fight. I've got one very reliable takedown that I do... The spear."
