Tommy Langaker has come into the new year with a new sense of focus and motivation. The Norwegian submission grappler has been one of the top contenders in his weight class for some time but he also admits that 2024 wasn't the best year for him.
He only made one appearance under the ONE Championship banner throughout the year where at ONE 165, he came up short against Kade Ruotolo for the second time when challenging for the ONE lightweight submission grappling world championship.
However, these setbacks have helped him to rediscover his fire and passion for his craft with renewed ambitions and drive.
Ahead of his return at ONE Fight Night 27, Tommy Langaker spoke in an interview with Nick Atkin about his focus for the year ahead:

"But 2025 is probably gonna be a better year. I'm feeling more and more serious as time goes on. Like last year, it's been a year for like kinda where do I want to go from here? Where does my career go? And I've come to some realization that now is the time where I have to push the pedal. Everything before was more like do it because you do it. And now, it's the time to step up and we'll see and take it from there."

Tommy Langaker has the chance to kick 2025 off on the right foot
In 2024, the year didn't start off well for Tommy Langaker following his second encounter with Kade Ruotolo in Japan.
2025, on the other hand, could be totally different for him with his return booked for Jan. 10 at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
Langaker will face off with an opponent he has beaten once before outside of ONE Championship in Canada's Dante Leon. They cross paths in a catchweight submission grappling tie.
Getting his hand raised over Leon is sure to set him up for the big year that he intends on having.
