Tony Ferguson recently blasted Khabib Nurmagomedov in a social media tirade amid the former UFC lightweight champion's comments about him. The former TUF winner clearly took exception and clapped back at his longtime nemesis.
It appeared as though the two former lightweight kings had moved on and accepted that a bout between them wasn't meant to be. However, 'The Eagle's' confidence regarding what would have transpired in a hypothetical bout struck a nerve with 'El Cucuy'. The UFC had made several attempts to reschedule their bout, but there were always extreme circumstances such as freak last-minute injuries and even a global pandemic that halted those plans.
The former interim UFC lightweight champion took to his Instagram account to fire back at 'The Eagle' and claimed that he ducked him throughout his career. Ferguson blamed Nurmagomedov for rehashing their beef and mentioned that he would have ended his unbeaten streak, while bringing up past references. He wrote:
"'Lucky punch' Now, was going to leave you alone, but just could help it ya [fat fu**]. What a f**** pu**y, coward like chicken. Keep hiding Khabieber 29-1. #ItsOnLikeDonkeyKongBi**h. #TiramisuTuesday commences. Until further notice, let ol' fathead know what time it is crew."

What did Khabib Nurmagomeov say that angered Tony Ferguson?
Tony Ferguson didn't just randomly sound off on Khabib Nurmagomedov for no reason as it was due to comments 'The Eagle' made during a recent interview, which sparked his heated response.
During his appearance on Inspire Me Podcast, Nurmagomedov mentioned that he would have been a horrible matchup for Ferguson had they fought and claimed it would have taken a lucky punch for 'El Cucuy' to defeat him. He said:
"My game is worse for [Ferguson], he doesn't have wrestling, grappling so what's he gonna do with me? How's he gonna stop me? Only chance he'd have to stop me is a lucky punch like with everybody...Conor [McGregor], [Dustin] Poirier, Justin Gaethje."
