Tony Ferguson has not taken kindly to former UFC lightweight king Khabib Nurmagomedov's comments. In a recently uploaded post on X, 'The Eagle' opined on how fighters hailing from Dagestan were superior to their counterparts in Ireland.

Nurmagomedov's post caught Ferguson's attention, who responded with an insult-laden comment towards the Dagestani.

"Shut up Fathead, you're still my b**ch. You fought 2 round 'pro' padded fights leading up to the UFC. Easy to talk when you're not competing... Once a coward, always a coward. 29-1."

Many MMA fans shared their reactions to 'El Cucuy's' response in the comments section.

One individual implied that the former interim champion's statement was a result of him suffering from CTE.

"Tony's CTE just getting worse by the day."

Another person went on to argue in favor of Nurmagomedov, saying it was unfair of Ferguson to blame 'The Eagle' for all their failed matchups.

"Bruh, Tony acts like Khabib was the only one who pulled out of their scheduled fights. Tony also pulled out of their scheduled fight & in their last scheduled fight, Khabib didn't pull out for any personal reasons. He wasn't allowed to fly from Russia to the US during the pandemic."

One fan opined that 'El Cucuy' could have gotten the better of Nuramgomedov in a possible showdown inside the octagon.

"Tony would've smeshed Khabib. That's why Khabib pulled out of fight."

Ferguson and Nurmagomedov were matched up several times to compete in the UFC but the fight never came to fruition. 'The Eagle' retired from MMA in 2020 with a spectacular 29-0 record.

Ferguson, on the other hand, is currently going through a rough patch and has lost all of his last eight fights in the promotion.
