Popular MMA commentator and long-time stand-up comic Joe Rogan has a strong following in the comedy world. Starting his stand-up career in the 90s, the 57-year-old media personality has given so much to his craft that fellow comics look up to him as an icon of the industry.
One of the things Rogan does for the community is shine a light on both veteran and up-and-coming comedians. Whether through his smash-hit podcast the Joe Rogan Experience or his most recent brainchild, The Comedy Mothership comedy club in Austin, Texas, the UFC mic man never fails to showcase comics he loves and admires.
In his most recent line-up of heavy-hitters in The Comedy Mothership, Rogan had his close friend and frequent JRE guest Whitney Cummings as a headliner. Introduced to the audience by another one of Rogan's close friends Shane Gillis, Cummings was met with a thunderous round of applause.

Joe Rogan on The Comedy Mothership: "It's the hub of the world for comedy"
In a previous episode of the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, Rogan told the story of when he moved to Austin, Texas, and founded The Mothership comedy club. Deciding to move out of Los Angeles during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, the MMA commentator brought with him a handful of his comedian friends. Wanting to create a new major hub of comedy in town, Rogan and his friends decided to put up a comedy club of their own.
Rogan said (1:42:38):
"All my people moved out here [in Austin]. They moved out here with me. So we had like, 16 top-shelf comedians move out here in the first two years. There's so many clubs out here. There's five clubs on the street where my clubs are. I bought the old Ritz theatre. So that's the Comedy Mothership now."
Rogan also said that with all the top-shelf, national headlining comedians moving to Austin and performing at The Comedy Mothership, the new club has now become the epicenter of comedy.
Joe Rogan said (1:44:06):
"It's the hub of the world for comedy. The Comedy Mothership is the hub of comedy in the world. And it just opened two years ago."
