Khabib Nurmagomedov was reportedly removed from a recent flight, which has sparked outrage from Dr. Omar Suleiman and ex-UFC flyweight Muhammad Mokaev, both of whom took to X/Twitter to express their shock and disgust over Nurmagomedov's alleged treatment.
A clip of Nurmagomedov being escorted off the aforementioned plane was first shared on X/Twitter by Suleiman himself, who believed that the incident was motivated by Islamophobia. However, its true cause was Nurmagomedov's apparent unwillingness to lend his assistance in the event of an emergency.
Mokaev, a fellow Dagestani Muslim, was quick to defend the UFC Hall of Famer.
"Piece of sh*t for doing that to him. I think he would help in the emergency than most people on the plane."

The situation, though, is more complex. Nurmagomedov and his entourage were seated in the emergency exit row of the plane. When approached by a flight attendant and asked about his willingness to help during emergencies, as is standard procedure, Nurmagomedov didn't understand the question.
After several failed attempts at explaining the question, the flight attendant provided Nurmagomedov with an ultimatum: either confirm his willingness to help during an emergency or be reseated to somewhere other than an emergency exit seat. Upon understanding the question, Nurmagomedov claimed he would help.
Unfortunately, by then, the flight attendant opined that the plane would be better served if he was reseated. Nurmagomedov refused and a supervisor was eventually summoned and he was ultimately escorted off the plane. The incident, it seems, was motivated by factors of safety.
All exit emergency seat passengers are legally required to speak the language of the carrier fluently enough to assist the crew in emergency situations. By failing to understand basic safety questions, Nurmagomedov appears to have posed a risk as he wouldn't have been able to follow instructions during an emergency.
