"Total annihilation, quick finishes, and aggression" - Akbar Abdullaev sticking to his ferocious ways in world title war vs Tang Kai

Upcoming ONE featherweight MMA world title challenger Akbar Abdullaev has laid down his fighting style against reigning divisional king Tang Kai ahead of their world championship clash on January 10 for the ONE Fight Night 27 main event.

Abdullaev aims to capitalize on his first-ever crack at the 26-pound golden belt in front of the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. Recently, he spoke with ONE Championship about the approach he will have on fight night, as he stated:

"My fight stye is total annihilation, quick finishes, and aggression."

The current No. 5-ranked featherweight MMA contender secured his spot in the elite list of challengers by sweeping his first three opponents under the world's largest martial arts organization.

Abdullaev made a successful promotional debut in March 2023, where he scored a first-round TKO finish of Oh Ho Taek during the ONE Fight Night 8 card.

Then, four months later, in July 2023, he added Aaron Canarte to his victim list with another opening-round finish at ONE Fight Night 12.

The 27-year-old Kyrgyz MMA star extended his unbeaten streak in May 2024 when he sent Halil Amir to the shadow realm with a second-round knockout during their match at ONE Fight Night 22.

Akbar Abdullaev thinks that Tang Kai's reign as divisional champion is typical and ordinary

The Al Munar Team and Tiger Muay Thai representative also shared his thoughts about the current reign of the Chinese MMA star during the same interview with ONE Championship.

According to Akbar Abdullaev, Tang's rule in the weight class is nothing but ordinary, as he said:

"I think Tang Kai is a cool-headed and experienced fighter, but I don't see anything surprising."
