"Trying to lose your visa again?" - Fans react to Khamzat Chimaev sporting gold rifle while seemingly issuing three-word callout to Sean Strickland

Khamzat Chimaev is now aiming to face former UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland. 'Borz' took to X/Twitter to challenge the latter, sharing a picture in which Chimaev himself can be seen holding a gold-plated firearm. However, he tagged the wrong account instead of Strickland himself, and fans took notice.

Many flocked to the tweet, forming a thread under it where they provided a fairly mixed response to Chimaev's attempts at goading Strickland into a fight. However, with the wrong X/Twitter account tagged, he is unlikely to get a response from the man himself, at least not yet.

This wouldn't be the first time a high-profile UFC fighter has communicated with the wrong account on social media. One-time middleweight title challenger Paulo Costa once left the MMA fandom in splits by messaging the wrong Nate Diaz, Jake Paul, and Dana White accounts on Instagram.

However, while Costa did so for humorous purposes, it is unclear if the same is true for Chimaev, especially as Strickland has one of the most overexposed X/Twitter accounts of any UFC roster member. So naturally, the fans were left scratching their heads over Chimaev tagging an account with few followers.

Others were positive that Chimaev's tweet couldn't be serious.

"Hahaha this has to be a troll"

One fan, though, used the opportunity to warn Chimaev over posting pictures of himself with firearms, given his rumored VISA issues.

Meanwhile, some fans simply found the tweet humorous.

'Borz' most recently defeated ex-middleweight champion Robert Whittaker, submitting him within a round. Thereafter, many pegged him for the next title challenger, but he may very well have his sights set on Strickland, who also fancies himself the next title challenger.

Before Khamzat Chimaev was a fixture in the UFC middleweight title picture, he and Sean Strickland trained together. While 'Tarzan' was complimentary of Chimaev, he did accuse the unbeaten Chechen of being too rough with his sparring partners.

Strickland himself is known for being an unforgiving sparring partner, so it is no wonder how rough Chimaev must be if even he feels justified in criticizing 'Borz's' conduct in training.
