Reinier de Ridder’s last appearance in the circle came in July when he defended his middleweight championship at ONE 159. Having defeated Vitaly Bigdash via submission in the first round, de Ridder has defended his middleweight championship twice. He is yet to defend his light heavyweight crown.

The Dutchman's two wins over Aung La N Sang, one for each world championship, announced his arrival on the world stage in huge fashion.

The middleweight title was scheduled to be defended for a third time by the double champion at ONE on Prime Video 3. However, the bout was canceled after his opponent Shamil Abdulaev was not medically cleared for the contest.

Reinier de Ridder shares how he calms his mind after fights

Reinier de Ridder has had one of the most impressive runs in ONE Championship that the promotion has ever seen. In seven MMA contests inside the circle, de Ridder has been victorious on every occasion, with five finishes and two world championships now over his shoulders.

The simultaneous middleweight and light heavyweight world champion defended his middleweight crown for the second time in July, scoring another submission victory. Defeating Vitaly Bigdash at ONE 159, de Ridder continued his dominant streak, which will take a herculean effort to stop in its tracks.

Taking to Instagram, Reinier de Ridder gave fans some insight into his mindset before and after a fight:

“It took me a little while to calm down the last time around, because I was so deeply immersed in the zone, so full of focus and in a murderous mindstate... Two books I read have really pushed me to the next level recently. If you want to do something extraordinary in life or if you want to get to know my mindset better. You need to read @timgrover his books. It has done a lot for me to read that there is more people like me and it has really made me realize it is ok to think the way I do... Long story short: Thank you Tim.”
