Ilia Topuria dissed Max Holloway's portrayal as a representative of FC Barcelona
Several combat sports fans, including Ilia Topuria, keep an eye on the coveted Spanish football rivalry between Real Madrid and FC Barcelona, known as the 'El Clasico'. Topuria currently stays in Madrid and is an avid Real Madrid supporter.
But it was Holloway who added the flavor of 'El Clasico' to their upcoming encounter. In an interview with ESPN, 'Blessed' revealed that he had been gifted with a Barcelona jersey and also predicted a victory for himself and the Catalan Giants.
"Yeah, I got gifted from Barcelona, and they gave me the number 9 for striker... So I guess Barcelona go [win] 2 and 0 Saturday night."
Topuria couldn't digest Holloway's words, predicting a loss for him and his team. He fired back at his rival later with a counter-prediction in the same interview setup. The Spaniard said:
"He [Holloway] was wearing the Barcelona jersey? Oh, he declared himself a loser... he's going to lose."
