Tye Ruotolo has demonstrated one of his favorite D’Arce choke setups.
Former fighter and current ONE Championship commentator Mitch Chilson has an ongoing social media series where he breaks down ONE fighter’s signature techniques. The latest addition was 19-year-old jiu-jitsu phenom showing off his slick D’Arce choke.
Chilson posted the video on Instagram with the caption:
“Learning the Darce choke with Tye from the @ruotolobrothersjiujitsu was an eye opening experience 😳 Can he lock up another one at ONE on Prime Video 5?”

Tye and his twin brother Kade made their ONE debuts in 2022. Tye won his promotional debut against Garry Tonon at ONE 157.
Meanwhile, Kade has competed twice in 2022. He first took out Shinya Aoki and then won the inaugural lightweight submission grappling world title against Uali Kurzhev.
With the brothers competing at lightweight, it seems inevitable that they will compete against each other for the world title.

Tye Ruotolo looks to maintain perfect ONE Championship record at ONE on Prime Video 5
The Ruotolo brothers are currently evolving at a different level. Kade Ruotolo has emerged as a jiu-jitsu superstar after dominating at ADCC 2022 and winning the inaugural ONE world title. Tye Ruotolo is looking to close the gap by securing his second promotional win at ONE on Prime Video 5.
Tye is taking on Marat Gafurov, a former ONE featherweight world champion, with the hopes of earning a lightweight world title shot. Kade will also compete at ONE on Prime Video 5 in the co-main event against Matheus Gabriel, an IBJJF world champion. Ruotolo vs. Gabriel is a world-class matchup that could benefit the growth of submission grappling.
Tye will likely be looking to make a statement against Gafurov. He’s on the undercard, while Kade is evolving into a household name for combat sports fans. If the Ruotolo brothers ever compete against each other for the ONE lightweight submission grappling world title, the buildup will undoubtedly help grow jiu-jitsu as a sport.
