Tyson Fury’s manager recently made an insightful comment on the boxer’s retirement. Fury announced his retirement from boxing following two losses to Oleksandr Usyk, which has been met with a mix of surprise and skepticism.
Fury, known for his on-again, off-again retirement announcements, previously considered retiring after his victory over Dillian Whyte in 2022 but returned to the ring for several fights. Fury's manager Spencer Brown acknowledged that his decision to retire this time seems more resolute, as he has secured financial stability and is focusing on his life with family.
Brown strongly believes that Fury is genuinely ready to step away from boxing. He explained that Fury is at a stage in life where he no longer needs money, and instead, he is enjoying simpler things, like spending time with his children. Shedding light on the retirement news in an interview with Boxing King Media, Brown said:
"He's made the decision himself... He's obviously been thinking about it overnight. I only spoke to him yesterday so he thought about it overnight. You know, he's a family man and he's probably just had enough. That's it! I've been asked by numerous people [about] will he come back again? The answerer is I don't think so this time."

Brown added:
"I mean the public is still going to want to see him, aren't they? Because boxing, let's have it. boxing is going be very boring without him."

Eddie Hearn casts doubts over Tyson Fury's retirement announcement
Tyson Fury announced his retirement from boxing following a second loss to Oleksandr Usyk in December 2024. The 36-year-old fighter posted a brief message on social media, stating he was stepping away from the sport.
However, boxing star Anthony Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, expressed doubts about Fury's retirement, suggesting that he may return to boxing despite the announcement. Hearn noted that while retirement could be the best option if Fury no longer has the drive, he believes the fighter might still make a comeback.
Speaking about Fury's retirement in an interview with Sky Sports Boxing, Hearn said:
“I mean who knows, you know? We've been here before, but if that's the end for him, good luck! He's had a great career and made a lot of money... Disappointing of course for British fight fans and sports fans that I feel like the time is now to make that fight quite easily [against Joshua]. But if the fight has been punched out of him and if his heart's not in it anymore, it's a dangerous sport and it's time to get out."
