Ian Machado Garry has been very vocal about his desire to face Colby Covington after the two exchanged words earlier this year. While 'The Future' appeared set to face Joaquin Buckley at UFC on ESPN 63 next weekend in the first main event of his UFC career, he will now take on Shavkat Rakhmonov at UFC 310 this weekend while 'New Mansa' will face 'Chaos' instead.

The No. 7-ranked welterweight recently appeared on The Ariel Helwani Show, where he expressed that he is interested in facing the former three-time welterweight title challenger, stating:

"I've been screaming and shouting about fighting that man from the rafters. This man's made videos about me, my wife, my kids, talked all this s**t and here's this man avoiding me like the plague... I would love to beat Shavkat and the following week, fight as the main event in Tampa and bury Colby Covington and leave him dead and done in that octagon never to be seen again."

Ian Machado Garry claims Colby Covington and Kamaru Usman ducked him

Ian Machado Garry recently took a jibe at both Colby Covington and Kamaru Usman. The No. 7-ranked welterweight accused both fighters of ducking him om receiving an opportunity to fight.

During his recent appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, 'The Future' claimed:

"So, I had many conversations back-to-back with the UFC - through me, through my agents, to multiple contacts with the matchmakers. Initially, the goal was to line up a fight with Colby Covington. Again, it's no secret that he's been running and then they went down the line and they let us look at Kamaru Usman. Literally, the words I heard from the UFC were, 'Kamaru Usman wants nothing to do with you' as in he's just running, as well."

Usman has previously shared that he is not interested in taking a short-notice fight after moving up a weight class to face Khamzat Chimaev on a 10-day notice at UFC 294. Covington has not shared his reason for accepting a bout with Joaquin Buckley instead of Garry after the two publicly exchanged words.
