UFC Gilbert Burns made a strong statement with an impressive victory at UFC 283.

'Durinho' took on Neil Magny in a welterweight showdown in his home country of Brazil. The 36-year-old made quick work of 'The Haitian Sensation' and finished him in the very first round of the fight.

Coming into the fight, Magny rode the momentum with an impressive submission victory against Daniel Rodriguez.

Burns, on the other hand, was coming off a loss to Khamzat Chimaev in what was a thrilling back-and-forth war.

In the opening moments of the fight, Burns scored a takedown and started working his way to a submission victory. 'Durinho' eventually caught Magny in an arm-triangle choke and submitted him.

Burns lived up to his promise as in the lead-up to the contest, he had said that the fight would not go past two rounds. The fight also marked the Brazilian's first submission victory in nearly four years.

After his spectacular performance at UFC 283, Gilbert Burns spoke to Daniel Cormier in his post-fight octagon interview.

During the chat, 'Durinho' said he wanted to make a quick turnaround and called out former title challenger Colby Covington for a scrap.

"I wanna be back very quick and I wanna finish everybody. Colby Covington, I'm coming for you."

Twitter reacts to Gilbert Burns' victory over Neil Magny

Gilbert Burns left many in the MMA community impressed with his submission win over Neil Magny.

Many MMA fighters and fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts on 'Durinho's performance.

One Twitter user suggested Belal Muhammad as the Brazilian's next opponent.

Another individual said that Burns' performance reminded him of Khamzat Chimaev as the Brazilian did not absorb one significant shot in the fight:

"Gilbert Burns did not absorb a single significant strike in that Neil Magny fight... almost Chimaev like... #UFC283"

Another user praised Magny but said that Burns was levels above 'The Haitian Sensation'.

A few more reactions to Burns vs. Magny can be seen below:

Many on the internet have been supportive of Burns' callout of Covington. 'Chaos' was last seen in action at UFC 272 when he took on friend-turned-foe Jorge Masvidal in a five-round grudge match.

'Chaos' has not competed in nearly a year. So, a comeback fight against 'Durinho' could be on the cards for Covington.
