As per MMA journalist Jed. I Goodman, UFC 284 grossed $5,911,598 AUD with an attendance of 14,124 people. The previous UFC event (UFC 221) in Australia grossed $2,810,520 (USD) with an attendance of 12,437 people in the audience.

Islam Makhachev and Alexander Volkanovski delivered an electrifying fight in the main event of UFC 284. The two fighters had the RAC Arena audience as well as MMA fans around the world on the edge of their seats for 25 straight minutes. The contest was rightfully given the Fight of the Night honors and both athletes were rewarded with a bonus cheque of $50,000 each.
Yair Rodriguez and Jack Della Maddalena finished their respective opponents in spectacular fashion. Thus, the two were awarded the Performance of the Night bonus worth $50,000 each.
UFC 284 ended with Islam Makhachev getting his hand raised
Islam Makhachev and Alexander Volkanovski went to war in the main event of UFC 284. Both fighters put their elite skills on display and gave the fans a memorable contest. In the end, it was Makhachev who retained his lightweight title by edging out a unanimous decision victory. The three judges scored the fight 48-47, 48-47, and 49-46 in favor of the Dagestani.
With the victory, Makhachev also broke 'The Great's 22-fight win streak.
In the co-main event, Yair Rodriguez and Josh Emmett locked horns for the interim featherweight title. 'El Pantera' outclassed Emmett and submitted him with a triangle choke in the second round.
A welterweight banger between Jack Della Maddalena and Randy Brown also took place on the main card of UFC 284. Maddalena sent a strong message to the 170-pound division by finishing Brown via submission in the very first round.
With the victory, the 26-year-old is now riding a four-fight win streak in the UFC.
Justin Tafa and Parker Porter went toe-to-toe in a heavyweight showdown. Tafa made quick work of his opponent and knocked him out in the opening minutes of the fight.
Jimmy Crute and Alonzo Menifield opened up the main card for the event. The fight was a close back-and-forth affair. In the third round, Menifielld lost a point for fence-grabbing. The fight was eventually declared a draw with 29-27, 28-28, and 28-28 on the three judges' scorecards.
