The UFC 288 main event is now official, with president Dana White announcing the final piece of the main card on social media.
White confirmed that the promotion will return to Newark, New Jersey with the pay-per-view to be held at the Prudential Center on May 6, 2023.
"What's up everybody? I'm sure you heard, we are coming back to Newark, New Jersey, May 6th! The main event, Sterling versus Cejudo. The co-main event, Oliveira versus Dariush. We got Yan versus Andrade. Mitchell versus Pearce. The return of Kron Gracie, he'll be taking on Jourdain. We have a stacked card, we're coming back to Jersey, the East Coast. Tickets go on sale next Friday, the 17th. I will see you all in New Jersey."
Bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling will yet again put his belt on the line against a former champion, in the form of the returning Henry Cejudo. Cejudo hasn't fought since 2020 and never lost his title to another opponent inside the octagon.

The co-main event will be a lightweight showdown between two of the foremost contenders in the division, with former champion Charles Oliveira taking on Beneil Dariush. Featherweights Bryce Mitchell and Jonathan Pearce will clash on the main card with another featherweight bout featuring the returning Kron Gracie and Charles Jourdain.
Former women's strawweight champion Jessica Andrade will take on Yan Xiaonan. Tickets for the pay-per-view will be available for purchase from March 17, 2023.
