UFC 290 is scheduled for July 8 as part of the company's 11th edition of International Fight Week. The week-long festivities will go down from July 3 to July 9 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

While there will be several events organized throughout the week, the UFC 290 pay-per-view will be its biggest attraction and will take place at the T-Mobile Arena. As far as the tickets for the event go, they are yet to go on sale.

As anticipation surrounding International Fight Week continues, a number of high-profile matchups are being rumored to take place at UFC 290. The company's newly crowned heavyweight champion Jon Jones looks set to make his first title defense against Stipe Miocic.

Alexander Volkanovski is also slated to take on Yair Rodriguez for the undisputed featherweight championship on the same card. Rodriguez won the interim title at UFC 284 earlier this year, before Volkanovski came up short in his lightweight title bid.

'The Great' will be defending his featherweight throne for the fifth time, while 'El Pantera' is looking to become the third undisputed Mexican champion in the promotion.

A rematch between Kevin Lee and Tony Ferguson is also rumored for the pay-per-view, with Bo Nickal's second UFC outing also in the works.

UFC 290: Dana White on Jon Jones vs. Stipe Miocic

Jon Jones returned to the octagon in emphatic fashion earlier this year against Ciryl Gane, submitting the Frenchman to win the heavyweight strap. 'Bones' then called out Stipe Miocic in his post-fight interview, but the fight is yet to be announced.

At a media scrum prior to UFC 286 in London, Dana White cast doubt over the Jones vs. Miocic bout, saying:

"Well, I don’t know. We’ll see. A lot of stuff goes on publicly that isn’t necessarily the case behind the scenes, but yeah I hope so.”

White also clarified that he isn't doubting Miocic's willingness to fight Jones:

“Listen, Stipe has never tried to get out of anything ever. You know, this guy is looked at as the greatest or one of the greatest heavyweights of all time and yeah, no I don’t think Stipe is trying to get out of anything."
