Alexander Volkanovski predicts winner of UFC 305 main event
Alexander Volkanovski recently offered his take on UFC 305's main event bout between Dricus du Plessis and Israel Adesanya.
'Stillknocks' and 'The Last Stylebender' will lock horns later this month, following an intense rivalry between the pair that has been brewing for the last year. In 2023, du Plessis stated that he wanted to become the 'first real African' champion in the UFC, which understandably struck a nerve with Nigerian New Zealander.
Volkanovski has since broken down the upcoming bout on his YouTube channel, where he specifically focused on the stylistic nature of their fight. According to 'Volk', whilst du Plessis' awkward stand-up has caused problems for fighters, he doesn't expect it to phase Adesanya. He explained:
"I think he's [Israel Adesanya] expecting an awkward fighter to be putting the pressure on him and I think he's going to be ready to capitalize on that. And that's what I mean by getting a finish, I mean like you coming in and doing all this sort of stuff and him just doing his freaky sort of stuff, leaning back, boom, boom sort of stuff. Sort of like a Rob[ert] Whittaker type of finish."
