Kevin Holland vs. Reinier De Ridder and the matchup machinations
Kevin Holland and Reinier De Ridder is a three-round contest set to take place in less than two months in Southern California. The Inuit Dome in Inglewood, California will be the consequential contest at 185 pounds, and the machinations of this middleweight matchup are certainly intriguing.
Holland is getting back to action in a pretty quick fashion in the eyes of several in the mixed martial arts community. This thought stems from when the brash competitor last competed in October and sustained a rib injury amid a battle with Roman Dolidze that led to the conclusion of the contest.
Holland's coach Bob Perez elected to call off the bout due to the injury with the UFC 307 bout ending between the first and second rounds.
After a victory on a June 2018 edition of Dana White's Contender Series, Holland has been a fixture in the promotion since then with exciting performances across multiple weight categories inside the UFC cage.
De Ridder is looking to notch his second straight UFC win after making his promotional debut following his tenure in ONE Championship as a titleholder at middleweight and light heavyweight. In his first foray within the octagon, RDR entered the octagon against one of the most accomplished middleweights in UFC history, Gerald Meerschaert.
This bout took place on Nov. 9 with 'The Dutch Knight' notching the arm triangle choke submission victory in the final round of his UFC Fight Night showdown against Meerschaert.
