The UFC 311 event will be headlined by a rematch that's been years in the making. Reigning UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev is booked to put his title on the line against longtime rival Arman Tsarukyan. It'll also mark the UFC's first pay-per-view (PPV) card of the 2025 calendar year.

In their first encounter, Arman Tsarukyan stepped in on short notice, as Islam Makhachev won the closely contested affair via unanimous decision in April 2019.

The UFC 311 co-headliner is also a grudge match, featuring UFC bantamweight champion Merab Dvalishvili and Umar Nurmagomedov. Umar is a cousin of ex-UFC lightweight champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov and Makhachev's training partner.

The card also features several other exciting fights, including the return of ex-UFC light heavyweight titleholders, Jiri Prochazka and Jamahal Hill, and rising star Payton Talbott.

Johnny Walker, who was to fight Bogdan Guskov in a light heavyweight bout, took to Instagram and indicated that he's been ruled out with a "bad injury." It's unclear as to whether the UFC would book Guskov against a short-notice replacement and keep him on the card.

The UFC 311 event goes down at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, U.S.A. Concerning the wildfires in Los Angeles, California, the Intuit Dome issued a statement indicating that the UFC card will go ahead as planned on the scheduled date.
