The fight marked de Ridder's second UFC appearance, after his victory against Gerald Meerschaert in November 2024. Holland, on the other hand, was returning to action after a TKO loss to Roman Dolidze at UFC 307.
The fight turned out to be a short-lived affair as de Ridder took his opponent down in the opening seconds of the fight and then proceeded to score a first-round victory with a rear-naked choke.
