UFC 311: Which songs have Islam Makhachev and Arman Tsarukyan walked out to?
Walkouts are the heart and soul of any high-profile fight card, transforming the arena into a pulsating epicenter of energy. These mesmerizing entrances fuel the fighters' determination and spark excitement throughout the crowd.
Although the walkout songs for UFC 311 are yet to be revealed, we can take a look at the memorable tracks these fighters have selected for their past bouts.
Islam Makhachev and Arman Tsarukyan first squared off at a Fight Night event in April 2019, where the Dagestani secured a unanimous decision victory over 'Ahalkalakets', who was making his promotional debut.
Boasting a UFC record of 15-1, Makhachev enters UFC 311 poised for the fourth defense of his lightweight title. With an impressive 14-fight win streak, he last stepped into the octagon at UFC 302 in June 2024, where he secured a dominant fifth-round submission victory over Dustin Poirier.
When it comes to walkout songs, Makhachev has become synonymous with the captivating beats of 'Dreams' by DJ Nariman Adjikamalov, an instrumental version of 'My Nanak (Мой Нанак)' by Tamila Sagaipova. This unforgettable tune has been the UFC 155-pound champion's anthem since his promotional debut at UFC 187 in May 2015.
Meanwhile, Tsarukyan, holding a 9-2 record in the UFC, is set to compete in his first title fight. With a four-fight win streak, he enters UFC 311 on the back of a grueling split-decision victory over Charles Oliveira at UFC 300 in April 2024.
'Ahalkalakets' has stayed true to his roots, consistently stepping into the octagon to the rhythmic pulses of the American folk song 'Kochari'. This iconic track has been his walkout song for years, symbolizing his deep connection to his Armenian heritage.
UFC 311: Which songs have Merab Dvalishvili, Umar Nurmagomedov, and others used before?
With a UFC record of 11-2, Merab Dvalishvili is poised to defend his bantamweight title for the first time. 'The Machine' secured the 135-pound championship with a dominant unanimous decision victory over Sean O'Malley at UFC 306 in September 2024, a win that also extended his streak to 11 consecutive triumphs in the octagon.
Dvalishvili remains loyal to his heritage when selecting his walkout music, consistently opting for the stirring Georgian anthem, 'Midi, Midi, Movdivar' by Nicolshow. This iconic track has become synonymous with his entrances.
However, at UFC 306, 'The Machine' deviated from his usual tradition, opting for a different Georgian folk song, 'Samshoblo (Homeland)' by Bani and Chabuka Amiranashvili.
Meanwhile, Umar Nurmagomedov, with an unblemished 6-0 UFC record, earned his first title shot after a dominant unanimous decision victory over Cory Sandhagen at UFC Abu Dhabi in August 2024.
For each of his UFC bouts, Nurmagomedov has embraced a longstanding tradition, stepping into the octagon accompanied by the vibrant beats of 'Georgian Dance Music' by Mtiuluri Xevsuruli Texili, a captivating piece rooted in the traditional Lezginka dance of the Caucasus.
Another electrifying matchup to keep an eye on at UFC 311 features a light heavyweight showdown between former champions Jiri Prochazka and Jamahal Hill. Both fighters are looking to bounce back after suffering knockout defeats at the hands of reigning champion Alex Pereira, with Prochazka falling at UFC 303 and Hill at UFC 300.
'Denisa' has shown some variety in his walkout song choices over time, previously entering to tracks like Kevin Rudolf's 'In the City' and the theme from Dwayne Johnson's 'Black Adam'. However, it seems Prochazka has found a recent favorite in 'Legends Are Made' by Sam Tinnesz, a song he's chosen on multiple occasions.
On the other hand, 'Sweet Dreams' is unpredictable with his walkout song selections, keeping fans guessing with a new track for nearly every fight. At UFC 300, Hill opted for the energetic beats of 'Miss Me' by Drake featuring Lil Wayne.
Elsewhere on the UFC 311 card, Beneil Dariush will face off against Renato Moicano in a lightweight showdown. Dariush has long favored the soulful tones of Lauren Daigle’s 'Still Rolling Stones' as his walkout anthem, making it a consistent staple in his entrances.
Meanwhile, 'Money' has been striding to the rhythm of the reggae hit 'Isaac' by Edson Gomes since UFC 271.
