Devin Haney retained his undisputed lightweight championship against Vasiliy Lomachenko this weekend, but it was not without controversy.

Suspicious judging has been a hot topic in MMA over the past few years, but the spotlight has now been cast onto judges in professional boxing following last night's result.

UFC fighters and pro boxers took to Twitter to share their displeasure with the result. The scorecards read 116-112, 115-113 and 115-113 all in favor of Devin Haney.

Professional boxer Shakur Stevenson, a lightweight title prospect, was brought into the ring following the conclusion of the highly anticipated main event. Stevenson openly stated that Vasiliy Lomachenko should have won the fight, as reported by Morning Kombat, who tweeted:

Former UFC title challenger and current Bellator MMA analyst Josh Thomson believes that the suspicious judging is contributing to boxing becoming a dying sport:

"This is why people don’t watch boxing anymore. Building the young guy over the guy who actually won. #boxingisdead"

Former UFC fighter James Vick predicted that Haney would be awarded the victory over Lomachenko, despite believing that the Ukrainian had won the fight:

"They aren't gonna let Loma get this decision even though he's Winning IMO"

Renowned boxing analyst and coach Teddy Atlas stated that the 116-112 scorecard in favor of Haney was unacceptable:

"I can live with the two scores I guess, but not the 116-112. #HaneyLoma"

Terence Crawford reacts to Devin Haney's win over Vasiliy Lomachenko

Devin Haney kept both his undisputed lightweight champion status and his undefeated record intact following a unanimous decision win over Vasiliy Lomachenko.

The decision caused an outcry from fighters and fans alike, with many believing that Lomachenko had done enough to win the bout.

Terence Crawford, arguably the best pound-for-pound boxer in the world and current WBO welterweight champion, reacted to the surprising scorecards in an interview with FightHype.com:

"To be honest, yes [I was surprised by the result]. Devin, that's my guy, and I was rooting for him the whole fight. But the 116-112 [scorecard], that was crazy... I don't know, maybe the body shots that [Haney] was throwing, man that was crazy."
