Jon Anik recently signed a new deal with the UFC to continue working together for the next four years. A favorite amongst fight fans, Anik is arguably one of the greatest commentators the sport has ever seen.
According to fellow UFC commentator and podcast host Joe Rogan, Anik is the best of all time.
Jon Anik commends Jiri Prochazka for immediately vacating the UFC light heavyweight title
Jiri Prochazka was set to face Glover Teixeira in the main event of UFC 282 next weekend. The pair put on one of the most exciting fights of the year in June at UFC 275, and were set to once again do battle for the title.
However, news broke last week that Prochazka had vacated the UFC light heavyweight title. The former champion sustained what Dana White described as "the worst shoulder injury UFC doctors have ever seen" in an accident while training.
It seems that Prochazka will be out for a while, and so he vacated the title to avoid holding up the division. UFC commentator Jon Anik applauded his decision on a recent episode of the Anik & Florian Podcast, saying this:
"The way [Prochazka] handled it though, has to be lauded, immediately vacating the title. And all indications are that he has guaranteed language that when he comes back he will fight for the undisputed light heavyweight title... But to just vacate it and step aside and allow the division to continue... it speaks to the martial artist in him."

A champion would often not look to vacate their title due to injury, as they had technically not lost the belt. That can somewhat complicate divisions with interim titles and alternative matchups.
For that reason, Jon Anik applauded Jiri Prochazka's willingness to let the UFC light heavyweight division continue without his presence for the time being.
