Joe Rogan and the UFC commentary team vividly captured the impact of Alex Pereira's punches after his victory over Khalil Rountree Jr. at UFC 307. The Brazilian has been in phenomenal form this year, defending his light heavyweight title three times against top-tier competition.

UFC cinematographer Alex Merriman, known for sharing raw, cage-side footage of fights, recently posted a clip of Pereira’s knockout victory over Jamahal Hill at UFC 300, which secured his first title defense. The video captures the moment's intensity, showing a cameraman visibly amazed at the sheer power of Pereira’s finishing blow. He captioned the post:

"Still in shock!!! It’s easy to forget just how close I am to the action—until something insane happens just feet away from my face. Staying focused on the shot while living in the moment? Always a challenge. It wasn’t just @alexpoatanpereira’s knockout that blew me away, but how he shrugged off a low blow and delivered it like it was nothing, ultimately defending the light heavyweight title. #UFC 300 was one for the books."

ESPN MMA reposted the video on Instagram and captioned the post:

"The cameraman is just like one of us."

UFC color commentator Jon Anik chimed in with a one-word emphatic response, commenting "YES" to signal his agreement with Merriman’s take on the action.

Magomed Ankalaev launches a series of attacks on Alex Pereira

Magomed Ankalaev recently took to X to double down on his callout for a title shot against Alex Pereira. With Pereira currently enjoying his travels and engaging with fans, Ankalaev is actively in the quest to stir up interest in a potential clash for the UFC light heavyweight belt.

Though Ankalaev's impressive record makes him a strong contender, Pereira has claimed in the past that the UFC finds the Russian's fighting style less exciting. In the latest series of posts, Ankalaev didn’t hold back, questioning Pereira’s courage and playfully dismissing his recent cultural and ancestral explorations, referring to them as distractions. He wrote:

"I’m gonna beat Alex and I will give him [an] immediate rematch as he deserves. I will stop him back to back. Chama!... Focus on MMA voodoo is not gonna help you, my son. I promise all my friends I’m going to punish this guy I will knock him out Inshallah."
