UFC fans are voicing their displeasure with the promotion after it was revealed that the upcoming bantamweight clash between Marlon Vera and Cory Sandhagen would be taking place at the UFC Apex.
Both fighters have entertaining styles, and fans took to Twitter to make it known that they are upset with the UFC's decision. Based on their respective rankings in the bantamweight division and what could potentially be at stake, many felt that it was disrespectful to both fighters that they're headlining an event at the Apex.

"A crime against the fighters and the fans" - {@noname88noname1}
"Slap in the face of the fighters. Maximum 50 people will watch that fight live. Disgrace." - {@ANTONIOEESPARZA}
"Any ufc event at the apex in 2023 is insanity. From bigger than soccer to smaller than high school basketball" - {@jray4151}
In addition, Erin Blanchfield vs. Taila Santos will also be taking place at the event. The reaction from fans was much of the same as their most recent fights were in front of sold-out crowds. Fans wrote:
"like idk doesn’t it make sense for both these fights to be fought on a PPV? Blanchfield could go to legit name recognition with a win on it, Taila gets a rematch, and winner of the Chito fight calls out & gets next shot. i know 99% chance they both stay on this card but damn" - {@SpinninBackfist}
"I don't care if it's on a PPV or a fight night but they should be fought in front of a packed house not the apex" - {@MikeNumbah1}
"Ufc is a whole mess right now" - {@ColinIsAGoof}
"Agreed. Two outstanding fights and all four fighters deserve a bigger crowd than the Apex."
It's surprising that the promotion continues to host events at the Apex this year, especially considering their popularity and the growing demand for live events both in the United States and in other markets.
Two title fights set for UFC's first pay-per-view of 2023
The MMA leader will be looking to kick off 2023 with a bang as two championship bouts are set for UFC 283, which takes place at the Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The main event will see former light heavyweight champion Glover Teixeira take on Jamahal Hill for the vacant light heavyweight championship. The bout was added to the event after Jan Blachowicz and Magomed Ankalaev fought to a split draw last month.
In the co-main event, flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo will take on interim flyweight champion Brandon Moreno in their highly anticipated quadrilogy bout. They fought to a majority draw in their first encounter and split wins in the two bouts that followed.
