Former Olympic silver medalist Mark Madsen suffered the first loss of his professional MMA career at UFC Fight Night: Rodriguez vs. Lemos.

In the first fight of the main card, 'The Olympian' took on Grant Dawson in a catchweight (157.5 pounds) bout as Dawson failed to make the lightweight limit.

The fight was a back-and-forth affair. In the third round, Dawson got the better of Madsen in the grappling department and went on to submit him via a rear-naked choke.

With the victory, the 28-year-old extended his undefeated streak to 11, and is now 19-1-1 as a professional fighter.

Madsen, on the other hand, was on the losing end of a fight for the first time in his MMA career. Prior to UFC Fight Night 214, the 38-year-old was 12-0 as a professional fighter. Madsen earned four of those 12 victories in the UFC.

'The Olympian' defeated the likes of Clay Guida and Vinc Pichel during his stint in the multi-billion dollar promotion.

Grant Dawson calls out Tony Ferguson after victory at UFC Fight Night

After his impressive victory at UFC Fight Night: Rodriguez vs. Lemos, Grant Dawson went on to call out UFC veteran Tony Ferguson for a showdown.

In his post-fight interview with Daniel Cormier, Dawson said that if the fight against Ferguson did not come to fruition, it would be because 'El Cucuy' turned him down.

"I just wanna say what an honor it is to be taking Tony Ferguson's spot in the top [15] and if Tony wants to come and try to get that spot back, I am more than willing to defend my newly ranked number 15 position against Tony Ferguson next. If me or Tony Ferguson fight anybody else but each other, just know, that he turned me down."

Ferguson is currently going through a rough patch in the UFC. The 38-year-old has failed to secure a win in his last five outings and was also finished in his last two UFC appearances.

It would appear that the former interim lightweight champion is past his prime. So, getting matched up against a young fighter who is on an incredible run might not be a good idea for Ferguson.
