The UFC is headed back to its APEX facility in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2024 (U.S. time) for its next card, UFC Fight Night: Royval vs. Taira (also known as UFC Vegas 98).
The UFC Fight Night card will be headlined by an exciting flyweight showdown between the No.1-ranked contender Brandon Royval and the No.5-ranked Tatsuro Taira.
Royval had a three-fight win streak snapped in a title fight loss to Alexandre Pantoja at UFC 296. However, 'Raw Dawg' rebounded with a split-decision victory over former champion Brandon Moreno in February.

Taira, meanwhile, will take on his toughest challenge yet in Royval. The Japanese phenom boasts a perfect 16-0 record and is coming off a stunning technical knockout victory over Alex Perez in June.
Taira will hope to keep the momentum going and stake his claim as the next title challenger with another statement performance.

Brad Tavares will also feature on the UFC Vegas 98 card as he battles Junyong Park in the co-main event.
Tavares has hit a rough patch in his career, dropping three of his last four fights. Most recently, the UFC veteran fell to Gregory Rodrigues via third-round TKO in February.
Park, on the other hand, saw his four-fight win streak come to a halt after dropping a split-decision to Andre Muniz last December. 'The Iron Turtle' will hope to get back to his winning ways when he battles Tavarez this Saturday.
In another intriguing matchup, Chidi Njokuani will square off against Jared Gooden in a welterweight matchup.
Also on the main card, Daniel Rodriguez will go head-to-head with Alex Morono in another 170-pound contest. It will be followed by a lightweight showdown between Rafa Garcia and Grant Dawson.
Additionally, Abdul Razak Alhassan will take on Josh Fremd in a middleweight battle to kick off the main card.
