UFC featherweight veteran Darren Elkins recently posted an injury update in the aftermath of his lopsided unanimous decision loss to Jonathan Pearce on December 3. 'The Damage' seemingly sustained some significant damage but decided to go on vacation nonetheless.
Elkins claims to have torn his meniscus and MCL in the very first takedown that he landed, which came after he ate two front kicks to the face in the opening seconds of the fight. 'The Damage' also seemingly broke his fibula at some point during the bout but decided to treat himself to a vacation in the Turks and Caicos Islands, regardless of the injuries.
Posting a picture of himself in a wheelchair, the 38-year-old wrote on Twitter:
"Well I tore my meniscus, tore my MCL when I got the first takedown & fractured my fibula in the fight… but I still had a great vacation in the Turks and Caicos with my family"

Jonathan Pearce threw up after choking on Darren Elkins' blood at UFC Orlando
Darren Elkins earned his nickname from his tendency to take damage. 'The Damage' lived up to his reputation, making his opponent Jonathan Pearce choke with his blood during their UFC Orlando clash.
Pearce wasn't interviewed inside the octagon in the aftermath of his decision win over Elkins. 'JSP' claims it was probably because he was puking after having choked himself on Elkins' blood. The 30-year-old told reporters backstage at the Amway Center in Orlando:
"Honestly at the end I threw up because I was choking on his blood a little bit... Since the fight got over, I started throwing up in the cage. I think that's why they didn't interview me. Because I had so much blood in my mouth."
