UFC heavyweight Tai Tuivasa recently gifted his son a watch worth a whopping $50,000. The extravagant Christmas present came as a surprise to the young boy.

The Australian has become a fan favorite since signing on to the organization in 2016. His likable personality went a long way in helping him rise to stardom. The 'shoey' enthusiast has earned himself one Fight of the Night and three Performance of the Night awards in his last five outings.

In an endearing video posted on Instagram, the No.5-ranked heavyweight can be seen giving his son the watch and putting it on the young boy's wrist as he smiles from ear to ear.

The 29-year-old is currently on a two-fight skid. He was last defeated by Sergei Pavlovich at UFC Orlando via a first-round knockout. Before the loss, Tai Tuivasa put on a brave showing against Ciryl Gane at UFC Paris in September, ultimately falling to the Frenchman via a third-round knockout.

It is to be seen when the heavyweight contender returns to the octagon next.

When the No.1-ranked UFC heavyweight named the hardest hitter he's ever faced

Former heavyweight title challenger Ciryl Gane once named Tai Tuivasa as the hardest hitter he’s faced.

Interestingly, 'Bon Gamin' is a former sparring partner and opponent of reigning undisputed heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou. Ngannou is known for being the hardest recorded puncher in the world.

Gane faced Tuivasa in a back-and-forth war that headlined the aforementioned Paris event in September. The Frenchman was dropped and almost finished by ‘Bam Bam’ in the second round but survived the onslaught. He returned to outstrike Tuivasa en route to a third-round KO win.

During the post-fight press conference, Ciryl Gane stated that Tai Tuivasa was the first fighter to knock him down. When asked if the Australian was the hardest puncher he's ever faced, Gane replied:

“Yeah, yeah, one hundred percent... Ngannou never touched me during the fight, so it is not possible to compare. But today, Tai Tuivasa touched me. Francis Ngannou can touch very well also. This is not a question. But today, he [Tuivasa] is the first guy to put me on my a**.”
