Jon Jones employed the help of fellow UFC heavyweight Walt Harris as 'Bones' prepares to face Ciryl Gane in the main event of UFC 285 next weekend. Harris last fought in June 2021 against Marcin Tybura, a fight that 'The Big Ticket' lost via TKO. During a recent video uploaded to Henry Cejudo's YouTube channel, Harris stated that he would return to the octagon soon.
'The Big Ticket' suffered an unspeakable tragedy in 2019, when his step-daughter was kidnapped and murdered. Harris was on a winning streak at the time of the incident and was 3-0-1 in his previous four fights.
Following the loss of his step-daughter, 'The Big Ticket' lost his next three fights and took some time away from the sport. Walt Harris shared some words of gratitude at the conclusion of Jon Jones' fight camp for UFC 285:
"I hadn't gotten the chance to look everybody in the face and tell y'all how much this really meant to me, where I was in my life. Y'all saved me from myself, I'm grateful. I'm coming back after the [Jones] fight, starting my camp, making my return. I love y'all man."

Jon Jones has finished preparations for his upcoming title fight against Ciryl Gane, as 'Bones' aims to become a two-division UFC champion next weekend. Jones will make his highly anticipated heavyweight debut after more than three years outside the octagon.
'Bones' didn't want to rush his move northwards, and took the necessary time to develop the appropriate musculature to deal with much heavier opponents.
Jon Jones wants to face Stipe Miocic after Ciryl Gane
Jon Jones is in a pursuit of greatness and will be moving up a weight division in order to achieve that. 'Bones' is set to take on dangerous striker Ciryl Gane at UFC 285 for the heavyweight title next weekend.
During a recent interview with TMZSports, Jones stated that he would be eager to face Stipe Miocic after his upcoming fight with Gane. Miocic, a former heavyweight champion, is often regarded as the greatest heavyweight of all time.
His legendary status in the division is part of the reason why Jon Jones would like to face Miocic to 'solidify his legacy:'
"Stipe Miocic would be a great challenge. Obviously, I'm not looking past Ciryl Gane, I've got a huge order ahead of me. But Stipe Miocic is who I have my eyes on. People consider him the greatest heavyweight of all time, and the opportunity to compete against such a man, I'd be honored... I wanna solidify my legacy."
