Former MMA star Chael Sonnen recently offered his take on Conor McGregor's UFC future. Sonnen stated that he doesn't believe fans should invest their time in McGregor's return to the octagon.
'The Notorious' hasn't fought since his trilogy bout with Dustin Poirier in 2021, when he suffered a serious leg break. After a number of years away recovering from surgery and rehab, he was then expected to face Michael Chandler. However, their bouts fell through on multiple occasions, leaving McGregor's future up in the air.
Due to the ambiguity surrounding his return, a majority of fans have now subscribed to the idea that Conor McGregor likely won't fight again, which is where Chael Sonnen also finds himself.

Speaking in a video on his YouTube channel, 'The American Gangster' warned fans that just because McGregor has refused to use the word "retired", it doesn't mean he's gearing up to compete once more. He explained:
"If Conor is not going to fight again, which it is very apparent he's not going to. But that's not the way this game is played...As long as you have not used the word retired, you seem to be eligible amongst our community for different debates and discussions and hypothetical match-ups, which is very good for you [McGregor]."
He continued:
"When you have people in MMA telling you Conor's going to fight again, you've got to store that away as a dumb dumb...I'm just not convinced that he understands that he's done."

Khabib Nurmagomedov's coach weighs in on Conor McGregor potentially facing Logan or Jake Paul
Khabib Nurmagomedov's coach, Javier Mendez, recently opined on the rumors of Conor McGregor potentially facing either Logan or Jake Paul in an exhibition boxing bout next summer.
Speaking on his Javier Mendez Podcast, the award-winning coach was asked for his thoughts on the potential bout, which is set to be held in India and will reportedly earn McGregor and his opponent over $250 million each.
According to Mendez, despite the huge figures being reported, he believes the fight itself will "bomb" and would rather see them face-off in a WWE-style contest. He explained:
"That's going to be a bomb. His brother hasn't won a freaking boxing match. Give me a break ... How's that gonna go? What's Logan Paul's fight record? They should do WWE. They're great entertainers ... A real fight, it's no good."
