The conflict began when he was asked to change seats due to concerns about his English proficiency while sitting in an exit row seat.

The former UFC lightweight champion refused, prompting the attendant to call for a supervisor to escort him off. However, Nurmagomedov chose to leave the plane on his own.

After the incident, Nurmagomedov took to social media, claiming he was respectful during the exchange and labeling the flight attendant as "very rude." He also implied that racial bias may have influenced the situation.

During a recent video on his YouTube channel, Sonnen weighed in on Nurmagomedov's removal from the plane, arguing that those supporting the Dagestani in this incident are in the wrong. The UFC veteran emphasized that airlines have strict policies regarding emergency exits, and passengers are expected to follow these rules without exception:

"This is a tough one, guys. I'm talking about Khabib vs. the airline... It's the rule to the point that the flight attendant will make sure—well, it won't matter if they saw you nodding and saying yes... They will wait until they have locked eyes with you, and you must say one or two words. You have one word, which is 'yes.' Any other word that you use, whatever it might be, you're out."

Frontier Airlines has since released a public statement regarding the incident with 'The Eagle', reaffirming their flight attendant's decision to remove the retired fighter from the plane.

The airline referenced concerns about his supposed English proficiency, in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, and firmly rejected any allegations of racial bias.
