Jon Jones recently shared a surprising revelation about his invitation to Donald Trump's presidential inauguration. Following his victory in the 2025 United States elections last November, Republican leader Trump was sworn in on Monday as the 47th president, marking the beginning of his second term in the White House.
The ceremonial event, marking the formal inauguration of the new president, featured a significant presence from the combat sports world. Trump extended invitations to numerous prominent figures from the UFC, WWE, and boxing realms, including Dana White, Joe Rogan, Conor McGregor, the Paul Brothers, and Mike Tyson, to name a few.
Among the esteemed attendees was the reigning UFC heavyweight champion, who was spotted mingling with UFC Hall of Famer Georges St-Pierre and Brazilian jiu-jitsu sensation Gordon Ryan.

During a recent interview with TMZ Sports, Jones disclosed that Trump personally invited him to the inauguration event. 'Bones' suggested that the invitation was likely a result of the longstanding relationship between the newly sworn-in president and the UFC CEO:
"Donald and Dana White have become pretty good friends, and it's a really cool time to be in the UFC, being American, being a champion, getting an invite from the president. It's quite a big deal... At the end of the day, you know, despite what political party you're in, I'm American, and I was personally invited by our president."
Jones was last in action at UFC 309 in November, where he claimed a third-round knockout victory over Stipe Miocic, successfully defending his heavyweight title for the first time.
The 37-year-old New Yorker also mentioned that he had anticipated the invitation, noting that Trump had attended his fight against Miocic:
"I had heard from a lot of friends that there's a high possibility that I'd be invited to the inauguration, especially that he came to my fight. I gave him a belt. I gave him a proper salute. And, yeah, I think it was expected. And now I'm here."
