Sean Strickland is set to fight Jared Cannonier in a five-round middleweight bout that'll headline a UFC Fight Night card on December 17. It will mark Strickland's first fight back since his knockout loss against Alex Pereira in July.

Ahead of 'Tarzan's highly-anticipated return, Ian Garry has lightheartedly labeled him a "liability."

Speaking to the MMA On Point YouTube channel, Garry recently gave his opinion regarding several MMA personalities, one of whom happened to be Strickland. The UFC welterweight prospect stated:

"He [Strickland] is the biggest liability in the world. Oh my God! I find him hilarious."

Ian Garry reiterated that he finds the 31-year-old American MMA stalwart funny but indicated that the latter should refrain from saying controversial things. The 25-year-old Irishman recalled running into Strickland in the changing room at a UFC event during the UFC's International Fight Week.

Garry revealed that Strickland started saying things to him. However, he highlighted that out of respect for Strickland, he wouldn't publicly disclose what was said:

"You just f**king need to censor everything the guy says...he's a massive liability on camera. Don't put a camera in the guy's face because he's gonna give you sh** that you're like, 'Oh wow! Can I even post this?' Like, he wants to scrap, and everyone likes a scrap... He wants people to f**king hit him in the face... You're like, 'This guy is f**king mental.'"

Alex Pereira was scared of Sean Strickland

Sean Strickland's six-fight win streak was snapped courtesy of a first-round KO loss against Alex Pereira in July. Pereira subsequently defeated longtime rival Israel Adesanya yet again, this time to capture the UFC middleweight title.

Speaking to Brazilian outlet So Papos MMA, Pereira recently revisited the Strickland matchup.

Referencing Sean Strickland's no-holds-barred trash talk, Alex Pereira explained that it didn't make much sense. Apparently, it reduced his fear of fighting 'Tarzan' compared to when their clash was first booked.

Nevertheless, 'Poatan' truly felt fear upon noticing Strickland staring him down peculiarly inside the octagon just before their fight began. Pereira said:

"But I’ll tell you when I was the most afraid. Everything he said and up until the weigh-in, everything was fine. When he entered the octagon and started staring at me, he hadn’t looked at me that way before. That was when I became scared."
