UFC fan-favorite Terrance McKinney is seemingly primed to make a statement when he makes his highly-anticipated return to the octagon. The 28-year-old American MMA stalwart is set to compete at the upcoming UFC 283 event that'll transpire at the Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on January 21st, 2023.
McKinney (13-4 MMA) is scheduled to face Ismael Bonfim (18-3 MMA) in a lightweight bout at UFC 283. Bonfim was last defeated way back in July 2014. The Brazilian fighter hasn't lost ever since. The 27-year-old Bonfim's most recent fight witnessed him secure a unanimous decision win against Nariman Abbasov at Dana White's Contender Series event in September 2022.
Meanwhile, Terrance McKinney is widely regarded as one of the most exciting fighters in the sport of MMA today. Out of the rising lightweight star's 17 professional MMA fights, none have gone to a decision.

All of McKinney's wins and losses have come via either KO/TKO or submission. He's also fresh off a first-round submission victory over Erick Gonzalez, whom he fought at UFC on ESPN: Santos vs. Hill in August 2022.
Boasting a respectable amateur wrestling background, 'T Wrecks' is known not only for his exceptional grappling prowess but also for his amazing striking skills. Needless to say, many in the MMA world are looking forward to McKinney's clash against Bonfim. Taking to his official Twitter account, 'T Wrecks' addressed his upcoming fight in Brazil and wrote:
"I’ll be in Brazil in 2 weeks can’t wait to see this beautiful country but I hope he’s ready for a storm"
Terrance McKinney on his much-discussed potential fight against Paddy Pimblett
Terrance McKinney and UK MMA superstar Paddy Pimblett have recently taken the UFC lightweight division by storm, courtesy of their entertaining fighting styles and charismatic personas. Unsurprisingly, several fans and experts alike have been clamoring for the lightweights to match up against each other.
In a recent interview with James Lynch, Terrance McKinney discussed a potential showdown against Paddy Pimblett. 'T Wrecks' suggested that he's better than Pimblett in both the striking and grappling aspects of MMA. Also, warning that he'd finish 'The Baddy' in the very first round, McKinney stated:
“Just domination. He [Pimblett] won’t be able to take me down, one. Two, he won’t be able to stand with me. He might be a good grappler, but he won’t be able to scramble with me because of years of wrestling. No matter what, we get him out of there in the first round, but for the fans, I would not wrestle. I’d look to put him out unconscious.”
