Alex Pereira has history with Andrew Tate; the Brazilian once fought the same fighter 'Cobra' Tate fought during his kickboxing days.

Alex Pereira got his start through kickboxing and made a name for himself while fighting for Glory Kickboxing where he was champion. Andrew Tate also had similar beginnings before he became an influencer.

'Cobra' Tate is a former kickboxing world champion. In footage that has resurfaced online, Alex Pereira can be seen dropping Tate's former opponent.

Back in 2014, Alex Pereira was fighting for his first-ever title when he faced Sahak Parparyan in the middleweight contender tournament finals. 'Poatan' ended up knocking his opponent down during the fight and put on a dominant performance to win his first title.

Parparyan is an Armenian boxer who was a former W.F.C.A. European and World Champion.

Andrew Tate fought Sahak Parparyan at It's Showtime 56 back in 2012. The Armenian proved to be one of the toughest opponents Tate ever faced.

Despite being the shorter man he pressed the action and was clinical with his combos and sweeping leg kicks. Parparyan cruised his way to a dominant decision victory after round 5 handing 'Cobra' Tate a loss.

Alex Pereira breaks MMA Twitter by speaking in English to promote UFC 287

Alex Pereira does not speak English very well, as it is not his first language. The Brazilian gives all his interviews in Portuguese and has to use the help of a translator.

However, ahead of his rematch against Israel Adesanya, 'Poatan' spoke in broken English to promote the fight:

"Hi guys, the time has come. I have my first title defense on Saturday in Miami against Israel Adesanya. Don't miss it and get your pay-per-view for UFC 287. I will promise you a hell of a fight."

Fans were amazed to see the Brazilian speak in English and the video was reposted by multiple MMA social media pages. One fan even claimed that Pereira speaks better English than Paddy Pimblett:

"Better English than Paddy"

The rematch between the pair has a lot at stake for both fighters. For Israel Adesanya, a loss will mean the end of his legacy and reign as champion. He will most probably not be able to fight Pereira again anytime soon and will have to work his way back up the ranks.

If 'Poatan' loses, he will lose his first ever title defense and will have to prepare himself for a trilogy fight.
