When Colby Covington said he never voted for Donald Trump
While Colby Covington is one of the biggest Donald Trump supporters in MMA, he did not vote for him in the 2016 US presidential elections.
According to Covington, the mainstream media's vilification of the politician was what prompted him to make, what he now believes was a misinformed decision. Speaking to Daily Wire in 2021, he said:
"I've always been a big fan of his but, I started mcoming out really hard in 2016 because before I was a little nervous, and before it was like the mainstream media, the fake news media made it seem like there is no way Donald Trump. It was over, [Hillary] Clinton had it by a landslide, what's the point of even showing up at the polls to vote? So, I didn't even think about voting at that time."
