"UFC Spain is waiting for you" - Fans react to Merab Dvalishvili's wholesome linkup with soccer superstar Sergio Ramos

Merab Dvalishvili and Sergio Ramos recently met up, and their sports crossover filled social media with excitement. The famed Spanish footballer and the UFC's number one bantamweight contender, at present, clearly had a mutual appreciation for one another based on their interaction.

The handshake and follow-up hug then led to the two men briefly chopping it up before the Sevilla FC defender signed a pair of cleats for Dvalishvili. The 135-pound standout then gave a UFC hat and custom Ramos UFC fight kit to the soccer player.

Multiple Instagram users enthusiastically commented and a sizable thread grew soon after the footage dropped on the UFC fighter's Instagram @merab.dvalishvili.

Merab Dvalishvili and his surge in popularity

The 33-year-old has been a dominant member of his weight category for many years but it seems like his popularity has been sizably growing only in somewhat recent times.

Dan Bilzerian was recently seen hanging out and playing paintball with Dvalishvili. The popular online influencer and the surging mixed martial artist were seen at what was described as an adult playground where Bilzerian hosted Dvalishvili per the latter's IG post.

The native of Georgia was also photographed with social media powerhouse Mark Zuckerberg following his last octagon outing. Merab Dvalishvili secured a dominant decision win over former two-division champion Henry Cejudo at UFC 298 in February.

A variety of online skits have also bolstered the popularity of the likely next UFC bantamweight title challenger, as he likes posting comedic skits.

Also, Dvalishvili sparred with famed actor Kevin James, who starred in the TV show The King of Queens as well as the MMA-centric movie Here Comes The Boom. James discussed how intense of an experience it was when speaking to Joe Rogan on his podcast The Joe Rogan Experience.

In training ahead of the aforementioned MMA-inspired movie, James said Dvalishvili mistook him for a heavyweight fighter while training with Chris Weidman and Aljamain Sterling with a different kind of comedy ensuing as a result of said confusion.
