Conor McGregor recently reacted to news of the Israel-Hamas ceasefire deal and called upon Russia and Ukraine to end their conflict as well. The UFC superstar also made an appeal for global peace in a social media post.
After more than a year of fighting, Israel and Hamas have reached a ceasefire deal that includes a hostage release agreement. The deal will go into effect this weekend and will take place over three phases. The deal was notably a result of intense negotiations mediated by Qatar, the U.S., and Egypt over a week.
In an X post, the former two-division UFC champion reacted to the news and called on Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelenskyy to bury the hatchet as well. He wrote:
"God is great! Russia-Ukraine next! WORLD PEACE 2025!"

Russia and Ukraine have been warring since February 2014. However, Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, and the two countries have been engaged in the biggest armed conflict in Europe since World War II. Chael Sonnen talks Conor McGregor making a potential UFC comeback
Chael Sonnen doesn't believe Conor McGregor will return to the UFC and fight again. The UFC icon also claimed that the Irishman withdrawing from the Chandler fight indicated his retirement.
During an episode of the Good Guy/Bad Guy show, Sonnen cast doubt on McGregor ever returning to the octagon and said:
"No, I'm not going to be foolish enough to believe that we can get that fight [McGregor-Chandler] to the ring for Chandler or for anybody else for Conor sadly. The sport is more fun when Conor's around, but no, we can't get him in the ring... Zero%, Conor will not fight again. When Conor pulled out of the fight with Chandler, it was akin to saying, 'I'm retired'. Whether he knows it or not, his career ended at that moment."
