Fans gave mixed reactions to Sean Strickland's comment regarding the TikTok ban in the United States. The popular social media app was banned following a law passed by a bipartisan majority in the US Congress in 2024.

TikTok has voluntarily suspended its operations in the United States, making the app is currently unavailable on Google Play Store and Apple App Store. According to online sources, US President-elect Donald Trump has indicated that would work with TikTok to find a solution and reinstate the app.

Strickland, a vocal supporter of Trump, took to X and shared his thoughts on the ban. He wrote:

"Today feels real f***ing communist... I'm not a TikToker but it doesn't feel right..."

According to a recent report on CBS News, U.S. lawmakers have raised concerns over the potential risks associated with TikTok's connections to China. The law passed in 2024 required TikTok's parent company, ByteDance, to either sell their stake in the app or exit the U.S. market, with a deadline of Jan. 19 - one day before the new President-elect assumes office.

The company had filed a petition, stating that the law infringed on their First Amendment rights. However, on Jan. 17, the U.S. Supreme Court upheld the law, allowing TikTok's departure from the United States.

For those who may not know, the First Amendment of the United States Constitution safeguards freedom of speech, press, religion, assembly, and the right to petition the government.

Strickland has been a vocal critic of various government policies and administrative decisions, which he believes do not serve the interest of the average Americans. While many find his views polarizing, they have resonated with a significant section of MMA fans.
