Johns came into the fight with momentum after a decision win in March. The American controlled much of the opening round using his jab and powerful right hand to keep the Brazilian veteran cautious.
De Andrade showed glimpses of his striking prowess throughout the fight, landing an uppercut in round two and a spinning kick in round three. However, Johns' consistent pressure and ability to exploit openings with his right hand ultimately proved too much.
The third round was particularly dramatic, with both fighters trading heavy blows and nearly finding finishes. A knee strike by Andrade popped Johns' mouthguard loose, and a spinning kick wobbled the American in the closing seconds.
However, Johns landed a counter right hand that stunned De Andrade, and both warriors went toe-to-toe in a wild exchange to end the fight.
In the end, the judges awarded the victory to Johns via a unanimous decision, solidifying his position in the UFC bantamweight division.
This victory extends Johns' winning streak to three fights and strengthens his position in the bantamweight division.
