UFC Vegas 95 just wrapped up. The event took place at the UFC Apex facility in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Aug. 10 and featured 10 fights in six weight classes. However, three main card fighters missed weight, causing their fights to be contested at catchweight. This article recaps the event and explores the full results.

In the main event, No. 8-ranked heavyweight contender Marcin Tybura faced No. 9-ranked Serghei Spivac. The fight was a rematch of their February 2020 contest that Tybura won by unanimous decision.

Spivac was a betting favorite heading into the rematch. Tybura, who weighed 24 pounds over Spivac, had a pronounced size advantage and appeared to be dominating his opponent on the ground. However, Spivac was able to reverse the position and secure an armbar in the first round to avenge the loss.

The co-main event was scheduled to be a clash of featherweights Damon Jackson and Chepe Mariscal. During the fight week, Jackson claimed that his opponent would miss the weight and Mariscal weighed 3.5 pounds above the weight limit for non-title bouts.

The botched weight cut had little impact on Mariscal's performance, who dominated Jackson in striking and grappling departments to walk away with a unanimous decision win. According to UFC statistics, Mariscal outstruck Jackson 218 to 49 in terms of total strikes and scored five takedowns.

UFC Vegas 95 undercard and prelims results: Danny Barlow and Yana Santos emerge victorious

The welterweight contest between undefeated prospect Danny Barlow and Nikolay Veretennikov was also changed to catchweight after Barlow missed the weight by 0.25 pounds. According to his coach, the doctors did not allow the American to shed the last quarter-pound.

Both men approached the contest cautiously and refused to engage in a firefight. While Veretennikov had a slight advantage in terms of the number of strikes that landed, Barlow did enough to convince the judges and earned a split decision victory. The win extended his undefeated record to 9-0.

The bantamweight showdown between Chris Gutierrez and Quang Le resulted in a unanimous decision win for the American fighter. Le had some success with the takedowns but Gutierrez largely governed the striking department, ensuring victory on the scorecards.

No. 12-ranked women's bantamweight contender Yana Santos returned to competition after one year of inactivity to take on Stockton's Chelsea Chandler. Chandler, the No. 14-ranked women's bantamweight contender, missed the weight by four pounds and the fight proceeded as a catchweight contest. Interestingly, three of Santos' last five opponents have missed weight.

Santos, who was on a three-fight loss streak heading into the fight, came out aggressively and landed the more impactful strikes. Chandler struggled to keep up with the pace and appeared to be trailing on the scorecards. She had more success in the third round after Santos appeared to be slowing down.

However, the Brazilian-Russian fighter did enough to convince the judges and secured a unanimous decision win. This was Santos' first win since she defeated Ketlen Vieira in February 2021.

In the main card opening bout, Japanese Bantamweight Toshiomi Kazama overcame adversity and survived a knockdown to score a second-round submission win over Charalampos Grigoriou.

The headlining bout of the preliminary card saw No. 8-ranked women's bantamweight contender Karol Rosa and No. 11-ranked Pannie Kianzad compete to climb the rankings ladder. Rosa emerged victoriously by unanimous decision and defended her No. 8 spot in the rankings while getting back in the win column.

Featherweight contender Youssef Zalal scored the only finish on the preliminary card, walking away with a first-round submission win over Jarno Errens to extend his win streak to five.

Elsewhere, Jhonata Diniz and Stephanie Luciano defeated Karl Williams and Talita Alencar, respectively.
