UFC Vegas 97 was headlined by a welterweight showdown between Sean Brady and former UFC title challenger Gilbert Burns. The event took place on Sept. 7 at the UFC Apex facility in Enterprise, Nevada.
Burns walked into the fight with two back-to-back losses against Belal Muhammad and Jack Della Maddalena. Brady, on the other hand, scored a submission victory against Kelvin Gastelum in his last UFC outing.

Brady started the fight on a good note and landed several strikes on his opponent in the opening round.
'Durinho' turned up the aggression in the second round and found success with his strikes.
The two had exciting grappling exchanges and managed to score takedowns against each other.
The UFC Vegas 97 main event lasted all five rounds and ended with a unanimous decision victory for Brady. The three judges scored the bout 50-45, 50-45 and 49-46 in favor of the 31-year-old.
