A featherweight bout between Steve Garcia and Kyle Nelson will feature on the main card of UFC Vegas 97.
Garcia (16-5) seems to have found his stride in recent years. The 32-year-old is unbeaten since October 2022 and is currently on a four-fight win streak. 'Mean Machine' was last seen in a first-round TKO win over Seung Woo Choi in July.
The other half of the event, Nelson (16-5-1) is currently on a four-fight unbeaten run. 'The Monster' clinched a Round 1 TKO over Bill Algeo in his most recent octagon outing in March.

Round 1
Garcia opens up with a teep kick, but he trips and falls. Nelson has now taken his opponent's back and is threatening a rear-naked choke. 'Mean Machine' has managed to isolate one of his opponent's arms, denying him the opportunity to complete the choke.
Garcia postures out on the choke and reverses position. He rains vicious ground-and-pound on his opponent. Nelson is getting hit with some mean elbows and ground strikes.
Garcia's ruthless barrage is preventing Nelson from getting back up. As 'The Monster' tries to get back up, an elbow to the side of the temple puts him down on the mat. Another flurry of punches on the ground forces the referee to stop the fight.
Garcia is the victor. He scores his fifth knockout in a row.
