Surging UFC lightweight Daniel Zellhuber had quite the interaction during Noche UFC 306 media day yesterday. As it turned out, one member of the press wasn't doing his homework on Zellhuber's recent fight history.

The media person asked this question:

"You've obviously got a few wins in a row but the last Noche UFC didn't go your way. Does this feel like a second chance to kind of impress on a big night?"

This was flat-out wrong as Daniel Zellhuber defeated Christos Giagos via an Anaconda choke in the previous UFC Noche event last year, even earning Performance of the Night bonus.

Confused, 'Golden Boy' asked the reporter to clarify and repeat the question, to which the reporter corrected himself:

"I meant to say to have another shot at having another big performance...Are you excited to have another chance to impress the crowd once again?"

Here's the full interaction as posted by @CotyMMA on X:

Offended and bothered by the lack of knowledge by the reporter, UFC welterweight Michael 'Maverick' Chiesa commented:

"This guy should have his media credential pulled. He obviously didn’t do his homework. 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻"

Fans give Daniel Zellhuber standing ovation after he dominates and submits Christos Giagos at Noche UFC

Perhaps the reporter in question wasn't in attendance at the inaugural Noche UFC event in September last year. Mexico's Daniel Zellhuber faced Greek-American Christos Giagos in a three-round lightweight battle.

Although Giagos gave Zellhuber some problems in the first round, the Mexican standout took control of the fight in the second. After landing a thunderous right hand, Daniel Zellhuber sent Christos Giagos into desperation mode, prompting him to shoot for a desperate takedown.

After easily stuffing the takedown, 'Golden Boy' locked in a tight Anaconda choke and forced the tap. The largely Hispanic crowd went into a frenzy as their proudest son got a win on Mexican Independence Day.

Here's a crowd video right after the Performance of the Night-winning submission by Zellhuber:

Zellhuber is set to face Esteban Ribovics at the second-ever Noche UFC event, Noche UFC 306, inside the world-famous Sphere in Las Vegas. The historic event will take place this Saturday, September 14.
