Joe Rogan recently raised a few eyebrows when he had Mel Gibson over in his podcast, the Joe Rogan Experience. While there's a myriad of topics the two extensively talked about, the one that got the attention was the topic of Ivermectin.

For those who aren't aware, Rogan made headlines during the pandemic when he claimed to have gone through a medically supervised procedure to treat his COVID-19 flu using an anti-parasitic drug called Ivermectin. An avalanche of criticism came pouring down on him as major news outlets and political figures accused the podcaster of using "horse dewormer" as medication.

In Rogan's podcast episode with Gibson, the Hollywood legend mentioned a few of his friends trying Ivermectin for cancer treatment and sometime later, his friends were cancer-free.

This conversation was heavily criticized by medical professional and social media personality Ian Copeland, who posted:

"This is where we are. We have an actor, Mel Gibson, and a podcaster, @joerogan, making claims about Ivermectin curing Stage 4 cancer. The minute you ask for evidence, it's a problem. Please cite the study that shows Ivermectin effectively treats stage 4 cancer. NOT IN VITRO STUDIES OR ANIMAL MODELS. IN A LIVING CANCER PATIENT!!! Im going to get every excuse in the world, but no evidence..."

Former UFC welterweight Jake Shields fired back at Copeland, posting:

"This guy [Copeland] pushed covid-19 vaccines as safe and effective".

What exactly did Mel Gibson tell Joe Rogan about Ivermectin?

In the podcast, Mel Gibson went on a serious tangent about Ivermectin. By the tone of his voice, it seems the Oscar-winning actor/director knows something we don't. The conversation started with "Let me tell you a story", which almost always means we'll be either left in disbelief or just simply amazed by the end of it.

Gibson said:

"I'll tell you a good story. I have three friends. All three of them at stage four cancer. All three of them don't have cancer right now, at all. And they had some serious stuff going on."

Rogan then asked Gibson what did his friends take and the Hollywood icon simply made a knowing face and said:

"They took some [makes a face] what you've heard they've taken [Ivermectin]."

Rogan then affirmed Gibson's claims by saying that he's heard studies of people using Ivermectin and Bendazol, amongst many other alternative forms of medication, as treatment for lethal ailments such as cancer.
